English Teacher

The British Council Libya is recruiting full-time Teachers of English and Professional Development Unit (PDU) trainers for our friendly, medium-sized teaching centre in Tripoli, starting in January 2010. A UK passport is essential. The successful candidate will work as part of an enthusiastic team of teachers to deliver high quality classes to the Libyan public and private sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a pioneering and challenging operating environment, with full professional support from the rest of the team. The successful candidate will have a first degree or equivalent, a certificate level TEFL qualification (CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL or equivalent) and at least two years full time post-qualification teaching experience. PDU trainers must have experience of teaching relevant courses.
